The inception of The Traveling Tap can be traced back to an event that Tim witnessed during his tenure in the Navy station in Norfolk. While attending a beach event, Tim came across a sizable mobile bar that had a fully functioning tap system and was impressed with the concept. In the following years, Tim didn’t come across anything similar to it.

While attending outdoor events such as concerts and weddings, Tim noticed jockey boxes and hand pumps being used to serve beer. As a restaurant manager and a beer technician, he saw the amount of money being wasted when beer was poured out in parking lots and outdoor event spaces. As a guest, he also noticed that the beer served was often warm and flat. This reminded him of the mobile bar he saw years ago and led to the birth of The Traveling Tap.

Initially, The Traveling Tap offered a 12-tap trailer for large events and 4-tap carts that were ideal for weddings and smaller events. As the team continued to operate in Central Pennsylvania, they recognized a demand for professional and unmatched bartending services for weddings and corporate events at BYOB venues. As a result, they expanded their offerings to include bartending services.

The Traveling Tap offers a unique serving station known as the tapped piano, which is ideal for small intimate weddings and elopements. This whimsical station features two taps that can serve wine, prosecco, and cocktails, making it a versatile addition to your event.

In addition to being a great option for cocktail hour or reception drinks, the tapped piano can also be used as a prosecco station for pre-ceremony drinks. With its charming design and functional features, the tapped piano is sure to impress your guests and add a touch of whimsy to your special day.
